Why and When to Use the Media for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding

By GPPAC - 2007

This paper - the sixth in a series of studies into issues related to conflict prevention and peacebuilding - sets out how a civil society organization working in the field of conflict prevention and peacebuilding should deal and interact with the media. As civil society organizations working on conflict prevention and peacebuilding we have a lot to tell the media, but we are not necessarily always effective in getting our message across. The paper maps what thedifficulties are for civil society talking to the media, and what skills or knowledge they should acquire to overcome these obstacles.
