WACC quarterly journal Media Development 2/2014. The aim of this issue was to begin to explore how Indigenous / First Nations / Aboriginal people are building their own media and communication networks. It was conceived as a way of reviewing some of the communication rights aspects inherent in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Communication rights enable all people everywhere to express themselves individually and collectively by all means of communication. They are vital to full participation in society and are, therefore, universal human rights belonging to every man, woman, and child.
