ICT Policy for Civil Society: Training Curriculum

By Unknown - 2008

ICT policy for Civil Society: Training Curriculum was developed by Association for progressive communication (APC) and partners for trainers who want to build the capacity of civil society organisations to understand policy and regulation related to information and communication technologies (ICT). Using it, you will be able to help others understand, engage and influence policy processes affecting ICT adoption and implementation at national, regional and global levels.

The ICT Policy for Civil Society: Training curriculum mainly contains individual units on ICT policy, though there is one module - on "advocacy". Units include suggestions for trainers on running the session, a handout for workshop participants, exercises, a list of additional resources, a glossary of terms, a copyright statement and workshop and materials evaluation forms. Many units contain additional resources such as MS PowerPoint presentations, detailed manuals for trainers, and case studies of how the tools in question are being used in different contexts.

Communication rights enable all people everywhere to express themselves individually and collectively by all means of communication. They are vital to full participation in society and are, therefore, universal human rights belonging to every man, woman, and child.
