Few Voices, Many Worlds: Towards a Media Reform Movement edited by Michael Traber and Kaarle Nordenstreng, with its echo of the title of the controversial MacBride Report, asked "What can be done to keep alive the call to put into practice the principles of democratization?"

Part I "Towards a media reform movement" presented "New World Information and Communication Order: Overview of Recent Developments and Activities" by Hamid Mowlana and Collene Roach plus "Seán MacBride: A Short Biography" by Jörg Becker and Kaarle Nordenstreng.

Part II "Statements on communication by social movements" gathered documents from three meetings of the MacBride Round Table on Communication plus two statements on communication issued by the World Association for Christian Communication.

Part III "Background documents on the NWICO" presented the Mass Media Declaration of UNESCO (1978), The MacBride Report Recommendations (1980) and the International Principles of Professional Ethics in Journalism (1983).

This booklet of 80 pages concludes with a "Bibliography on the New World Information and Communication Order" prepared by Colleen Roach.
